Just bought a saxo vtr as my first car and I'm trying to tidy it up get everything working perfectly. One thing that I've noticed is that the two front seats have some movement in them. And the passenger seat squeaks. Could some one give me a hand on this please. I've taken off the back rest adjuster and had a look at the mechanism. Not really sure where to go from there really
Saxo vtr front seats loose on the back rest. Any fixes?

#2Sounds like a loose bolt. Slide the seat right back and look in the seat rails themselves, you'll see a bolt on each side.
Check if they're loose.
Then slide the seat forward, and check the other end of the seat for the same thing.
If the bolts continue to spin then the plates are stripped of thread and have been cross threaded or worn down in time.
If this is the case you could also re thread it to a bigger bolt to fix. Could be just a matter of being lose and need to be tightens back up. For the passengers squeaking is this when sitting on or moving up and down if moving then get some grease on it. -
#3That's when sitting down and moving about. If you go over a bump it will squeak a little.i'm going to go check those bolts now and I'll come back to you
-
#4The base of the seat is solid and tight as can go.
I think it's something to do with the mechanism for the angle of the back rest. Only the back rest moving
-
#5When inspecting see if the fixtures are actually lose on the seat them self.Quote:The base of the seat is solid and tight as can go.

You could remove them and inspect the sliders on it re grease up and re situate them and screw back in. When putting back in finger tighten the bolts in and line up.
Regarding squeaking could be springs broke or cracked could be due to being old too maybe spray some wd40 on springs if can locate them and use thin straw that you get on bottle see if improves it or could be rubbing on something too many possibility's with squeaks. -
#6It was in the dark when I checked and only had the roof light so I'll check tomorrow when it's light. Thank you for your very good ideas. Much appreciated
when you say use a thin straw. A thin straw to do what? Sorry didn't quite understand
I'll find out the squeak. Lubricate everything

#7straw you get with the wd40 to spray though or thin pip thing lolQuote:It was in the dark when I checked and only had the roof light so I'll check tomorrow when it's light. Thank you for your very good ideas. Much appreciated

#8Ahhh okay I understand now lol!

#9Okay I've noticed when rocking backwards and forwards on the seats that the front bolts have a little bit of movement. A lot of people have mentioned the floor cracking. What's this about. So I remove the bolt and pull the carpet up? How can I fix this?
-
#10Most likely the floor has cracked pal, remove seat and have a look at it
-
#11If its cracked might need re welding up and plates added to it to give more support on. remove carpet around seat and inspect for cracks or rust round area. If cracked then looks like cut remove rust drill weld strengthen

#12I've taken it all apart and I think that the rail slider is a bit loose. Anyone had this problem? I tried tightening but It won't go any tighter. Anyone had similar problems? All the wobble is at the back of the seat now because I found some loose bolts underneath
