ok so im bait confused (often am) whenever i insurance my car or go to buy parts from gsf etc i enter my reg and its says my vehicle is a VTS. however my vehicle is a 1.4l furio so surely they are wrong. As far as i am aware VTS/VTR's have 16v and are 1.6. Mines a 1.4 and only has 8v.

    VTS has 1.6 16v. VTR has 1.6 8v, Furio has 1.4 8v.
Get a pic of your engine up, and have you been on reg check with your number plate

Was just thinking that! They only did 1.1 mangos didn't they? So someone has done an engine swap and then registered the engine change with the dvla, but registered it wrong and put it as a VTS maybe? But that's a vtr engine isn't it?

Easiest way to tell for sure, look at the first bit of the VIN number on the silver plate.

    for example

    VF31A VJX F********

So, the 6,7 and 8th digit signifies the engine code. VJX is a TUD5B diesel.

    NFX is most 1.6 16v engines (VTS/GTi)
    MFZ is 1.3 (100hp) etc

mmm i have been thinking abut it for a while, but i think i should have got a proper vas from the start. i simply don't have the time now to do an engine swap
