Knocking from front wheel ares

I have a knocking coming from my driverside wheel area. I have replaced both wishbones as thought this was the problem. But the knocking is still happening any help would be appreciated.

What type of knocking? Repetitive, single clunk etc
  3. #3
Its a single knock on bumps. But also it can not two or three times when making u turns for example

    Cv joint

    +1 with cam
sounds likely to be a CV joint

Thanks guys I'll check it out. Could it also be top mounts or driveshaft.

Driveshaft would be a constant knocking i believe and topmount is only a tenner but try the CV first. Its more likely

Cv joint is part of the driveshaft....

To the op have you tightened the wishbone nuts up properly inside the car on the footwells? Also the tracking needs doing after wishbone replacement.

Yeh tightened up properly and tracking done. It does a single knock when i turn full lock left and then turn back right. If this helps

Tracking doesn't need done when replacing a wishbone, only required with rod end rplacement.

Check the bolts are torqued up correctly. a deep metallic clunk will be the main bolt or the 2 nuts for the rear bush.

Assuming the ball joint pinchbolt is NEW and torqued correctly. don't re-use them, often they are banana shaped.

mine knocked like your explaining, when i turned and went over speed bumps it would be a single knock.

Mine was due to worn cups/springs on the struts. Not sure if its a common thing but had 2 new front struts and springs and hasn't knocked since.
