2001 vtr turns over slow/ wont start

   I've just bought my vtr and the guy told me it needed a
   New battery so I thought nothing of it and was going to get a battery. Since I bought it, it was turning over slow but starting. Since yesterday it sometimes starts and sometimes doesn't. I tried a different battery which was good, didn't start at all, put mine back on and it sometimes started sometimes didn't. I've checked the alternator with a multimeter, the battery and alternator are good and working. I've cleaned the earths up on the battery,
   No difference. My thought now is starter motor earth, or just a knackered starter. Any one had similar or can help?

   Yeah starter i would go for they give all the symptoms of a flat battery when there dying off.

   Thanks Danny! Going to check the feed I think first and the earths and then probably get a new starter

   Sounds like the starter is fooked.

   As mentioned it sounds like the starter, hope it is otherwise it could be anything
