Aftermarket gauges

   Just finished installing an aftermarket temperature gauge, I wired it up as follows:
   
   wire to Ignition switch
   wire earthed to the chassis
   wire to temperature sensor
   
   This is correct yes? It works fine.
   
   But Where do I send the other 2 wires for it to light up when I turn the lights on? I know one is an earth, can I just send the other to a light source such as the dimmer switch? Cheers.

   Do you still have stereo in? I just used a small spade connector to the stereo plug. Has a connection to the lights.

   Yep I've also been told a few other ways so I think i'm sorted now cheers just need a pod holder now

   I have 3 aux gauges, all 3 (including lights) got wired to the stereos switched live, does the job nicely
