Pre tensioners

Just a quick question which might sound stupid but not had to deal with disconnecting pre tensioners in the past. I've recently stripped the interior out looking for a leak but whilst looking I've found a few tiny rust spots that I'm going to get sorted before they get any worse.

I've found a garage close to home that's going to do the job and they've said to leave the car as stripped as possible so now wondering what would happen if I was just to bolt the seats in place and not reconnect the pre tensioner, just while the car is driven to the garage and back.
I know it will trigger the air bag light on the dash but will it trigger any codes or anything that will need clearing once everything's reconnected?

You will trigger the airbag light and the airbag ecu may log a fault code, easily cleared though.

I'm guessing a code reader will clear any codes? Any idea on the actual name of the reader if that will do the job so I can look into buying one? I won't have any problem with the light coming on seeing as the garage is only 5 min drive and the light will go back off when I put the interior back in properly but I don't want to connect the plug seeing the seats will be coming back out at the garage but don't want to risk having the wires damaged by the garage rushing to remove the seats.

What year is your saxo it matters because of the type of reader needed?

if you have striped the interior out just un plug the air bag ecu as this is just behind the center console this will stop the airbag light coming on and also will not log a fault code on the ecu

The pre tensioners are unplugged from the seats already. Is it only one plug on the air bag ecu to stop it recording faults? I've not taken any notice of the ecu to be honest other than see it tucked behind the bar under the dash

I'll take a look in the morning then as the battery is still disconnected so will be able to pull any plugs straight away rather than wait for anything to discharge

For ref you need a lexia scanner.

Thanks! I'll start looking out for one now, be worth knowing if any codes are already stored anywhere from the previous owners
