Ball for gear selection controller

   Anyone found a replacement for the ball on the selection controller? I can't believe that the only option for replacing a little plastic ball is a £50 part.

   I would like to know as well. Gear stick is slopier than a blowjob.

   I guess the trouble is that having bought the part, I'll just want to fit it and not bother working out an alternative and everyone else is the same. I'll try to take some measurements and record them on here just in case someone else wants to talk to a machine shop or similar.
