Half cage?

  1. #1
Im looking for a half cage with harness bar mounts, but I can't seem to find them anywhere?

My car is a daily and the main reason for the cage is for my harnesses to mount on as I don't like the idea of my spine exploding in the event of a crash with my harnesses currently mounted to the OE rear belt mounting points.

A full cage is probably out of the question as its already a pain in the ass to get in/out off. I did find a perfect cage however the company no longer make them -

    Any other suggestions?

    Just buy a show cage

Don't some half cages have some benefit in the event of a crash? As a pose to a show cage which does nothing?

Side impact with a show cage will instantly give you a slack harness and death.

You can buy the rear half of the bolt in Safety Devices cage separately. I asked Corby Motorsport for a quote back in July for the rear half with cross diagonal and harness bar and price was £460. Full cage with cross diagonal+harness bar was £738.

The 106 version of the cage is better as it mounts to the rear floor, rather than the arches.

Pretty sure you can ask to have the tabs that the front section mounts to left on, so you have the option of going to the full cage in future.

£460 for a rear cage is steep....I can get an OMP FIA full cage for that!

They do that! 0% if you phone up or something like 28% if you apply via the web.

And you only need a 10% deposit...which is £60 essentially
