Rattling sound

  1. #1
Serviced the car today, and had a good check underneath for anything loose that I thought would be the issue (manifold, decat pipe, zorst)
Basically there's a rattle/knocking sound coming from where the exhaust joins the manifold roughly, or if not a bit further back underneath the gearstick.
The noise happens on idle, or when I'm giving it high revs, haven't got a clue what it could be after checking now, but any ideas would help as it's frying my brain.

Hadn't checked the nuts or gear linkages, didn't sound like those could make this sort of noise, but will definitely check those out cheers Steve
Exhaust doesn't seem to be hitting anything, also just noticed another thread stating it could be the manifold rubbing against the gearbox, so few more things to check over.

Iirc recall on some saxo's there is an exhaust mounting bracket which bolts to the gearbox, sometimes the bolt shears off or is left off.usually when the car has been worked on and somebody forgets the bolt.

Will be this, as the engine vibrates when running it hits the gearbox. Get a new bolt in.

Just to add, is this as simple as it sounds to replace/check? Also what bolt would I be looking at?
To point out as well it's a Protech manifold.
