I removed the gearbox today and think I knocked it into gear whilst removing it does this matter when putting the box back on?
Gearbox problem

#1

#2Has anybody got any advice as I'm refitting the box in the morning cheers
-
#3no, just take it back out of gear using the selector rods on the back of the box. the rod should be central when its in neutral.
-
#4Now have a new problem box back on, speedo is moving when in neutral and when I rev it , it goes up
-
#5Chck any sensors and any of the wires that go with them, that are located on the box or near to it.
-
#6Is the speedo sensor the one at the back of the box?
-
#8They are all connected along with all earths, there is only one driveshaft in the box at minute as I'm waiting for a new 1 would this cause the speedo to move by any chance?
-
#9Only possibly if you jacked up the car put it in gear started it,then manually rotated the wheel.
-
#10Looks like new sensor then
-
#11With only one driveshaft in it will cause it to act like it is moving if it is in gear. It's not the sensor.

#12Cheers mate that's what I wanted to hear
