#2On my 106 Gti it means that there is no ABS available
-
#3traction control no?
Flashes intermittently when it kicks in?
pretty sure abs is a big red light with the letters ABS.
what's the matter, staying on all the time? -
#4but what nimix said isn't far wrong, it will all work off the tooth gear on the hub.
Give your abs sensors a clean, chances are that's where the problem lies. I don't know how it all works on saxo's as I don't have any of these so called safety features (because I drive like a man) but these sensors usually work using an inductive pick up, it knows the wheel position by the missing tooth on the gear.
sometimes the magnet in the abs sensor fails, or gets reaaaaaaaally dirty, throwing out your readings and upsetting the ecu.
good luck! -
#5Yeah it's staying on constantly, just bought a vts and it was on it when I bought it. I'm wanting to get all the little bits fixed before I sell my other car and start driving this one, I'll try and give the sensor a quick clean up and see if that helps, thanks for the input

#6It's 100% abs light get a code reader and it will tell you what it is exactly, I've had this 3 times on my vts and its allways been abs sensor.

#8Just some more info for you mate, a normal OBD2 code reader won't scan your ABS module, you'll need someone with a decent code reader / snap-on gear!
I've had 2 faulty sensors on my VTS, and I diagnosed it using a multimeter / ohmmeter to check the resistance across the sensors from the ABS module as this also checks the wiring to each sensor.
The ABS module is located behind the battery, attached to the ABS pump, if you remove the connector, then check the resistance between each of these pins. A good sensor will read ~1.2Mohms if remember correctly. The sensor(s) with 0 continuity are faulty, or there's a break in the wire somewhere.

Hope this helps, more info here: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=407384

#9Thanks this may come in useful, my dads good with multimeters so I'll probably let him have a look lolQuote:Just some more info for you mate, a normal OBD2 code reader won't scan your ABS module, you'll need someone with a decent code reader / snap-on gear!
