Electric windows toggle switch.

  1. #1
Has anyone ever tried to use the standard electric windows switch and connect it to a toggle type switch?

    Like this:

Obviously it will be spring loaded,6 terminals as the standard switch,16 AMP per switch should be enough? Surely shouldn't be too hard to do?

    Thanks.

The only problem is that you'd only be able to have the window all the way up or all the way down wouldn't you? Plus with it only having up or down the motor will be trying to push the window up constantly?

No,it's spring loaded so when you want the window to stop you just let the switch go and it will return to the default off position, when in this position there is no current flowing.

Extend the wires up then use the two existing switches and put them into a custom panel.you could do this by removing the central air vent and make up a perspex panel.

I want to retain the central vent, thanks for the input though.

How about putting the switches horizontal where the switch blanks go next to the heated rear window switch?

Not a tidy solution that i would like to use to be honest,I would like to integrate them in the DIN gauge holder.
