Turbo thread sizes

Im confused by metric, imperial and then xAN sizes.
Im mocking up my turbo oil feed and I'm trying to work out sizes that I need.
So I've got an M10x1.0 thread at the engine end, then an 8mm hose going to an 8mm barb on the turbo end so thats fine.

But I need an inline oil filter between engine and turbo but I dont know what size to get because they're advertised 6-AN, 4-AN etc? I dont understand how they work!
    Cheers

is your hose a teflon with stainless overbraid?

AN is the standard of braided line sizes and fittings, -3 is typically brake lines, -6 is the 5/16" i.d stuff typically used for fuel lines, that's near as dammit 8mm.

best bet is to drop Alex and the guys at http://www.torques.co.uk a line with your needs and they'll sort you out.
