Painting rocker cover - vtr

    I'm thinking of respraying my rocker cover, got a spare one to use.. Anyway I'm ok with the spraying it sanding etc, but I did replace the cover not that long ago for a new original one which I picked up cheap off ebay but it's bin on the car about a year and already bubbled up all along the front where the exhaust manifold is below, anyone got any tips to stop it doing this if I repaint it because i don't want to paint it for it to be a mess again in a few months..

    wrapping the manifold could be a option mate

    It's only a standard manifold or I probably would of done, thinking about it though I think it might be missing a heatshield because I swapped it over for a mk1 downpipe without the catalytic converter
