Axle stands

Best place to buy these for the VTS? Browsed on Amazon, but want to make sure that I buy one that'll fit easily underneath in regards to being lowered.

Also if anyone has any recommendations for lowered jacks too that'll be great, using crappy ones atm.

Ironic how I post this, and an hour later the car collapses off the jacks due to not having axle stands.

I'm sorry, but how on earth can you expect the jack to with stand the weight of the car?
It's not designed to keep the tension, just to hold the car in place till you place the stand

Depends on what type of jack and for how long it's used.if the op used the standard scissor jack then i'm not surprised it gave way.

But people do die from using jacks as stands, there is a company that makes a jack but it jacks up an axle stand its pretty cool. As for a jack for a low car sgs engineering make one buts its pricey at £200 for the jack and two axle stands

That is why you never get under a car with just a jack for support, also keep you legs out of the way when jacking.seems obvious but some people never learn.

All you need is to spend £40-50 on a cheap hydraulic jack, £20-30 on some axle stands from say halfords, jack up, put axle stand under rear wishbone mounts or sills if you must, then maybe leave jack under the sump just as an extra measure! Doesn't need to cost lots

I wasn't under the car, just checking the wheels for play and then took them off for a further inspection without thinking. I can get under the car without jacks because the rear is so high lol. Brake shields are bent, and off/side splitter has cracked, that's all that's been noted so far!

Will be travelling to the land of Halfrauds today.

I bought a brand new hydraulic jack and 2 stands for 30 quid.
The jack is crap, but it can lift the car enough to get the stands in place
