Not enough power to brake light switch

    Hi guys,

Just fixing up the other half's Saxo and I've hit what I hope is the last snag.

I was about to book an MOT but realised the brake lights weren't working, so I've checked the bulbs, fine, traced the wires from the lights to the switch on the pedal, fine, checked the switch, fine, but according to the multimeter, there's only a very small voltage going to the switch. Bridged it all from the battery and they work fine but I can't trace the wire from the switch to the fuse box and I really don't wanna take the dash out after putting everything back together. Also checked the fuse box and it seems fine but I notice the wires at the bottom don't correlate with the fuses. Could there be a wire missing?

It doesn't help that the previous owner has installed an aftermarket alarm which seems to be wired in to everything.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Sounds like the wire from the switch to the fuse box is missing, from what youv'e said. I assume the fuse box connected to the battery OK because other things work off it. What about if you run another, temporary wire form the fuse box to the switch? The result would give one more clue.
