Temp gauge issues

   Ever since buying my car, the temp gauge has done its own thing and the red light to say engines too hot does too, as soon as the ignition is on, the fan comes on and it will stay on after its turned off for about 15mins.
   I have replaced the fan, relays, fuses, dials themselves, temp sensors, full engine loom and cleaned the earths.
   Any other ideas?!

   Don't count on me on this. But I'm sure It may be something to do with you ignition.

   Hmm could be plausible as I had the problem with the no rear window, heater or power steering but fixed that now but could it be a tired ignition barrel?

   Checked the temp sensor?

   What about the gauge itself that maybe faulty?

    What about trying another ecu?

    This was something that crossed my mind! Struggling to find an unlocked ecu though, especially don't want to spend the money if it doesn't fix it

    What would cause ecu to pack up just the temp gauge though? I have a 3 plug Pred I could bang in but it has a turbo map on it or would that make my car 300bhp straight away?

    Internal fault it's electronics afterall it could be sending out the wrong signal/voltage to the temp gauge(guess)
