car storage

I've just bought myself a golf gttdi for a daily runner which will replace the saxo but I'm unsure whether I'll be keeping the saxo or not yet, considering keeping it as a project as I don't really want to let it go as it's a good one compared to most and it's not really worth selling seeing as they don't go for alot now.

Anyway what's the best thing to do with it if im not going to be running it for a while? Considering just getting a car cover for now and taking the battery off it, anything else I should be doing? Hopefully I'll have a garage to store it in soon when it's built..

If your keeping it definitely get it into a garage and out of the weather elements

Well if I do decide I'm definitely keeping it it will probably be off the road for at least a year as I plan to strip it down completely for a respray then start rebuilding it.

I won't start this until we have a garage to use though which is currently going to start being built anytime now, so the car is going to have to be stored outside for at least a few months before I have some place dry to put it

well if outside i'd just pump the tyres up and disconnect the battery. Once inside and its dried out, then i'd stick it on axle stands, disconnect the battery and get a cover over it.
If the air is dry then I doubt you need to do anything like start the engine or put a drop of oil down the bores.
