hmm...semi flush my boot help?

   Ok, here's the deal, i want my saxo semi boot flushed
   to start with debadging as u know well on my 1.1 it has holes under the badge names i wanna fill them i know filler will do it, but a, im scared to do it myself as would it be ok if i did it myself then spray oer the area mask the boot off with newspaper so just the little area to spray would that come out fine? or any tips? im not sur eon how to do this?
   or would it be easier to put rubber gromits in it instead?
   ive seen on other 1.1 the full flushed effect isn't very likeable to my taste.
   
   but thinking keeping the numberplate there just smoothing the the gaps over then later stage delock it but all im interested in is debadging

   it would look GASH if u filler'd the holes and then sprayed that little area... as it wouldnt be a perfect colour match n u would have a patch of a diff colour.
   
   you fill the holes and then take it to a bodyshop to sand and spray it. prop cost about 100 ish.

   DO NOT USE filler, the filler will sink into the holes,
   
   
   I had mine done for £90, they welded the holes up, sanded down, fillered, sanded down until they got a smooth finish and then resprayed the boot.
   
   If you use filler it will look shite after 6 months, the filler will crack due to closing the boot.

   I tried the filler route and diy spray it looked shit and the filler has sunk the badges are now back on to cover the destruction.

   No they aren't but you dont weld metal plates that are the exact size of the holes either so in theory for the price of some glue and 5 x 1p you could be onto a winner.

    If you're going to get it done don't be a fucking boge artist, get it done properly. I took mine to a normal bodyshop in Milton Keynes and they welded mine for £90 I can take pics tomorrow if you want.

    you don't weld metal plates, the gap isn't big enough to warrant that.
    
    
    All you need to do is weld what is already there.

    The amount of money and time you'll spend trying to do it yourself, you might aswell work a couple of days extra and have a professional do it to a good standard.
