Power Steering Fluid

I'm empty, is it just basically open the cap, pour in until the filler mark, or anything else?

FYI this is the one I've bought earlier from Halfrauds.

Its probably best to fill, then turn wheel from one lock to another a few time, then check level! This ensures that the rack is full of fluid!

If it's empty has there been a leak, shouldn't lose any at all other than it ages and turns darker when it's like that it should be flushed

Okay so all can abuse me, but the power steering fluid is full. I'm almost certain when Josh came down mine a few weeks ago, there was none.

Basically my problem is occasionally when starting the car, there is no power steering at all, sometimes it's fine, I presumed it would be the ps fluid. My alternator is currently failing, that's getting replaced this week, could that be the issue? Any help is welcomed, bit of a kafuffle.
