Want to lower my newly acquired VTR by 30mm, thoughts on these?

Hi guys, I posted in the newbie section (mainly to introduce myself) but I though it'd be more appropriate to ask here as I can't find any posts on it.

It needs some TLC, and I can replace the front springs with OEMs for £30, but I think I'd prefer to lower all 4 by 30mm keeping the OEM shocks (it was my mates Aunt's before, and in very good condition with full service history)

I found these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-Max-Lowe...item461593abcc do you think that price is too cheap for 4 30mm lowered springs? I'd say so myself but I'm no expert on this at all so I'd like your guys input!

If it is, what's the asking price for springs that compromise between quality and price roughly?

I like the yellow, will look good with the yellow calipers I plan to have against the metallic red body

    Cheers!

As I said in your other thread, that'll be a price for 2 as its only on springs at the front, then you'll need to attempt to do the torsion bar at the back or find someone to do it for you. (can be a bitch to do)

There are probably better springs out there than those tbh. I'd spend a bit more. Also it doesn't matter what colour they are as no one will see them lol

I think I have a few sets of A-max on the shelf if you want a set.
    Let me know....

Thanks man, just seen your other post too. I wasn't aware of that, my Dad's fairly good with cars but that sounds like it could be a professional job, and I don't think I can do with paying extra labour costs at the second.

I may be interested mate! Going to see about how I go about this torsion bar, I'm assuming it doesn't need anything purchasing for it to be lowered, just the know-how?

It depends how handy you are and what tools you have but yes you could do it for free yourself. You don't need any other parts to lower the rear.

In the past I've paid around £75-100 to have it done.

Probably could do it what with my Dad owning a T4 which apparently has a torsion bar on the front.

For now I'm going OEM all round, then look into it at a later date!

I'd just do the mods now if you're buying new parts anyway. Especially if you're planning to mod it in the future.
