alternator belt question

    Hi if the alternator belt isnt on right or sat right could it cause the steering to judder or shake? This is on my fiesta ztec s. I ask because just had a cambelt cover fitted at a garage. I got the car back and noticed steering wheel shaking around corners and on the spot aswell. Had a quick look and saw belt isnt sat right. Does this belt have anythin to do with the power steering pump? All this is after I got cambelt done at another garage and he broke the cover and didnt tell me about it. I only knew because I checked it then he refused to fix it now this. Im not havin much luck. Cheers

    Update. Took the car back to the garage and theyve had the power steering belt off aswell. But they are stretch belts so maybe lost its tension. Anyway their puttin a new one on. Not sure if they are gonna charge me for it again though. What would you guys do? Shall I pay for the just the power steering belt as they put other on wrong and broke it

    Best bet is to ring them and voice your concern. Most garages will give you a straight answer and then you know where you stand.
