dropped a bit in the engine

    👏👏 well done me.

    Taking the rocker covers off the vts to re seal them and I managed to drop the torque bit into the front part. It went straight down the hole under the cam.

    Anyone know the easiest way to get it out? Or where it is likely to be sitting?

    I've stuck an extending magnet down and it's going all the way down but not getting anything.

    I've drained the oil out the sump seeing as it's getting serviced anyway but nothing there either. My next step was to take the sump off but thought I'd ask here first.

    Have you got a picture? Could be in the cambelt cover.

    Be in the oil galleries, could have hit the sump in that case it'll be fine, if it's stuck it could block the oil feed.

    Got a photo off google, it's gone down the hole under the cam where the arrow is pointing.

    Drain oil,then take the sump off feed the magnet up from underneath and see if it catches the socket.sorry couldn't be of more help.

    I've drained the oil anyway so ill get the sump off at the weekend as I work away from home during the week.

    Hopefully it'll be there!
