I have a strange misfire on my vts no eml and only when the car has been driven for awhile short runs its fine basically it's like it's hitting the limiter early any ideas it's been cammed by previous owner iv been running on normal unleaded any ideas if I should put higher octane fuel in or maybe coil pack on it's way out it's been recently serviced aswell

Change coil pack and gap the plugs correctly. chances are it hasn't been cammed and there is no need at all to run a higher octane fuel.

    Look at his quoted reply

anyways, in the higher rpm's misfire (especially when warm) is the sign of a coil pack breaking down internally and or spark plugs going high resistance due to incorrect gap and age.

Haven't fixed it yet gonna change coil pack over the weekend wil post back

Can you update with a new list of cars that you've dusted once it's fixed?

Can you hit 60mph in second?

I had a corsa vxr and my mate tried to have a go in his vts! Was running 708's pug1off map Bec filter full piper mani back was dyno'd at 151 bhp. He didn't win he was about 3 to 4 car lengths back till about 90 then when I played with the vxr and got it to 247 bhp I waved at him. Lol.

Like a said I beat it you all can say what u want iv got nothing to prove the lad asked what it can dust
  15. #15
Don't get me wrong It was a short road I am running a xsi box and the car is fully stripped out but the fact is I beat it

Corsa VXR's are shit, I've had this argument on another thread.

    End of fucking story.

However, beyond 100 VXR has turbo powahhz right up to 140, whereas a VTS/GTi will only do 127 (showing 140 on the clocks)

You should get onto some detailing forums. That much dust from such a small car doesn't sound right.

Just an update iv changed plugs coil pack map sensor and it's still misfiring there's no codes coming up it's getting annoying now it's fine when cold soon as it warms up it's gettin progressively worse and now I'm getting a smell of fuel any ideas ppl making injector?
  20. #20
    Maybe injector*
  21. #21
Aside from you sounding like a complete cunt.

    I think it's the lambda.
  22. #22
I'd expect an injector fault to be immediately obvious from startup.
  23. #23
Cheers lad will try lamda sensor next
  24. #24
    Change the fuel filter too.
  25. #25
Already changed fuel filter mate, changed plugs coil map sensor battery checked earths no signs of air leaks I did disconnect lambda sensor and it made the misfire worse so I'm gonna change that next I'll post back

If it is actually cammed, I'd be looking at getting it checked over at a reputable garage to make sure the timing has been set properly and the car has been mapped to suit. I very much doubt this is your lambda causing the issue.

If you unplugged the lambda and it made no difference then it would point to the faulty sensor (as it's not doing anything). But because the misfire got worse when you unplugged it, that tells me that it's doing its job. Still, it's a cheap part to replace and might fix it if you're lucky.

Think I'm getting somewhere disconnected cts sensor and ran abit better iv ordered 2 from the motorfactor a grey one and a green one they saying doesn't matter what colour it is I can get the grey one today and green one tomoz any ideas if the colour makes a difference
