What do I need?

So in the next few weeks I'm swapping my engine on my 02p Saxo vtr due to a blown head gasket that the previous owner told me was fixed (bullshit).

I can currently see two options,

Option One ; a mate said he will see me his saxo vts engine but no gearbox etc for £100

Option two; there's a c2 vts engine with gear box clutch and already cammed with catcam on eBay for 550.

I'm kind of liking the idea of the c2 vts but does that mean I will need a c2 ecu and loom or what. (My current ecu is 3 plug)

Buying your friends one will be cheaper as cat cam 743's are only 300 brand new for the pair

You would use your loom on c2 engine

Oh wait sorry my mistake my mates is a stock vtr not vts

and it's the c2 that's got the cams milney

Not worth it then. Go for a vts engine c2 or normal. You will have to use Saxo vts or 106 gti engine loom

The c2 engine will not go straight in without additional work, unless it's already been in a Saxo or 106.

    It's coming from a 106 gti

if its coming from a 106 it'll be reet to drop in, im assuming that it will be coming with all the sensors?.... but is it out of a single plug 106 or 3 plug?

as if its single plug youre gonna need some 3 plug 16v sensors, 3 plug loom and an unlocked 16v 3 plug ecu

So just to confirm Ali, im looking at going for the c2 vts, i need to make sure it comes with sensors and the loom. Am i correct in saying the loom will have to be for the entire electric system in the car i.e. dials, lights everything

No you will just need the 106 gti engine loom if it's 3 plug ecu type. you will also need ecu, ignition, transponder and immobiliser box from underneath dash on passenger side

Would my current 3 plug ecu for my Vtr work with a c2 loom and a remap?
