Hi all,
car overheated on the motorway, got very hot, i have changed the headgasket and replaced the valve stem oil seals.
i put the head back on and started it up, there was a horrible clicking sound coming from the top end, i took the rocker cover off and got a friend to crank it by hand, i noticed on cylinder four the inlet valve would stay open for the compression stroke even when the rocker arm was off the stem of the valve. It would stay open until the piston touched it causing it to snap shut.
so im thinking its my valve guide and most likely the valve too?
if i take my head off again, will i be ok to reuse the head bolts?
if im replacing the guide and valve for cylinder 4 should i just do them all, would i need to?
thanks
