clutch slip then engine management light on solid

  1. #1
I've just driven home from work, put my foot down in third ready for going up a big ass hill, but as the revs started to come up to about 3500 it felt as if my clutch slipped (i dont think it did, but thats the kind of feeling it was - like a slight dip in power to the wheels) and then my engine management light came on solid orange, but everything seemed normal again.
I drove home slow and kept the revs low and had a quick look under the bonnet, no oil leaks i can see, nothing dripping onto the road, air filter and pipes still on.. cant see anything unusual. Im going to have a proper look tomorrow.
I've searched on tinterweb and cant find anything thay matches bang on, anyone got any ideas?
Seems to tick over as it should, and also switched it off and back on and the eml is still lit up.

Would best bet be to just take it for a diagnostic? I guess it could be a whole heap of things.

    Cheers

Unplugged the battery this morning and then plugged it back in. The light was off. after about 5 miles of driving it came back on; I guess there might be something wrong.
But its ok, just ordered apex 50mm kit from Kamracing

Driving to work tonight, i cant go over about 2500 rpm as the car starts to judder / loose power. If sat in neutral the car will rev right up if i press the accelerator. A bloke from work revved it up to near red line and when he let off it sounded like it backfired. Could this be the coilpack? Anyone?

Get the code reader on it.

As above and you can pick up a code reader on ebay for £10.00-£15.00.

Why did somebody redline a car that they know to be faulty?

my cheapy obd bluetooth jobby wont connect to my singleplug vts management where as it used to connect to the single plug vtr , not that you could actively do a lot with it mind you.
