Whats better 35mm or 50mm

  1. #1
Thinking about getting the apex suspension kit but wondering witch one would be better for handling gain? 35mm drop or 50mm drop?

    Thanks in advance

35 mm would be better for track handling. 50 mm for looks.

All depends on budget and what you are using it for.
    I widnt use apex personally.
I've got eibach springs and bilstein b8 dampers all around and wouldn't change it at All truly is a great setup and one that kam racing would recommend

If you want to keep the handling as good as possible with minimal bump steer then the 25mm drop will be best (the kit won't lower your car 35mm)

On the vtr and vts I think the Eibach's lower about 40mm on the sports models but it's a very good high quality spring and with the Bilstein b8 is one of the best combinations available.

Is this the full set I'll need? But witch dampers are better firm or not? Don't care about ride quality just need best handling I can get

I've got the normal b8 setup! I didn't go with the firm rears as I still use mine on road aswell as track so didn't want it really rigid. But it's up to you what ones you go for.

Or what about these kits are they any good? And as well is the kam racing exhaust system any good thinking of that as well

My eibach springs are the red ones which are eibach sport line they say they are 50mm drop but mine is bang on 40mm
  21. #21
Any of them kits will be great. Mine is the first setup of the two kits
  22. #22
Kam racing is one of the best exhausts to get. Either kam exhaust, super sprint, piper or saxsport systems are all good.

Yeah top set is good I have that exact same suspension kit and can't fault it had mine for around 4 years. Yeah go for it good exhaust system. I have a piper exhaust and a saxsport I will sell the piper as I love the raspy was of the saxsport

But it won't drop it 50mm it will drop it like 40mm? Might get that then works out cheaper and yeah plus while your helping me out witch I appreciate witch is a good break set up and wheel and tyre set up for it? Was looking at a full brembo break set up for it

Yeah mine is bang on 40mm Looks nice. I'm running 206 gti 180 front calipers with a 306 gti6 master cylinder, and ap racing dot 5.1 brake fluid Can get that setup for under a 100 and they really do work well. I really rate uniroyal rain sport 3 tyres they are really good in both dry and wet conditions

Might get that set up then so them dampers are good that comes with it n how low does it look? And where you get them breaks from as well! And them tyres legal for road use? I was just thinkin toyo proxys tbh

Yeah the dampers are the b8 ones you can't beat them unless you go coilovers or group n. It sits really nice I would take a pic for you but mine is a shell ATM. Lol. Can get the brakes off eBay. Or on here if someone is selling them! Yeah they are road legal tyres. I personally think toyo proxes are shit

Talking something like a gaz setup or a decent named one got to be talking anything from say £550 upwards I believe.
  31. #31
coilovers. good if you need to regularly adjust the height or balance of the car. For a road car, most people buy them, set them to one height and never change it so kind of pointless. Also useful for "lows".

Eibach springs and b8's are the way to go - great balance between excellent suspension and cost.
  32. #32
For road use if you can afford it fit Bilsteins. They are clever little dampers using what they call digressive valves to firm and soften the ride as needed. Go over lots of bumps and they soften to smooth the ride, go into a corner hot and they will be firm, controlling chassis lean. The Eibach Sportline is also a progressive spring with a soft initial rate and is firmer once compressed.

    Bilstein + Eibach suspension

I'll get them then cheers for your help!

A bit late, but I fitted the Apex 50mm kit from KAM Racing a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Was a lot cheaper than anywhere else, still comfy and corners a lot better than the oem setup.
  37. #37
The 50mm Apex kit is probably our most popular suspension kit for the Saxo.

Cheers got any pictures of how it drops car? Still deciding on what to get I am leaning towards apex since it's cheaper and heard good things about them

Alright mate, sorry i ran out of data, pics will be up by tomorrow lunch. Handles amazing, had a first run in the dry today and it just grips. Its stiff, but not too bad over bumps... well worth the money. Can take bends a lot faster than i could
