Dash board lights what fault is causing this?

I have a few lights but ill put them all in one thread to save space,!

First the airbag light is solid (locked on) i resetted the ECU yesterday and for the whole day and all today was fine now the dreaded light has returned !!

Engine management (not the spanner, the yellow engine light) guy who sold me the cat claimed it came when the car developed a missfire, since then he discovered it was the coil pack and replaced this, car now runs fine, but light still sits on dash? The ECU reset did no help...

Oil light stuck on, red one, but car is filled to rim with oil, oil mot burning leaking or anything still the light is locked on...

A friend that works a lot on cars suggested he has fixed this by changing the oil filter from a zig zag pattern filter to a straigjt pattern filter, to allow more breathing = fixing the fault and light goes out, is he right?

Lastly why the engine light ? Is it because the oil light or dodgy air bag light?? Or is it what the seller said and it just never disapeared ?

    Xreg 2000year 1.1, 3stud, 3plug ecu
None pas none elecy windows if this helps

again the airbag light has went out my friend has suggested the plugs under seats may be one of them faulty and to cut an solder? and may somebody please reply here which of these are MOT fail ? oil ? engine or airbag ? i think just airbag light is a fail correct??

Any light is a fail mate.

Now your friend is most likely correct, unplug the battery then try unplugging-plugging the under seat cable in again, if no joy cut and solder.

Your enginee light could be something else, you won't know until you plug in a OBD2 diag machine. Though I'd bet it's a bottom lambda sensor, very common failure too because it triggers when it reads the cat converter under 98% efficiency.

About the oil problem, yeah could be related to the oil pressure sensor. If that's faulty, changing the pressure won't solve the problem.

Also after replacing any faulty part that's caused the eml to come on you need to clear the fault codes on the ecu.Otherwise you'll get the light come on again.

Coming to think of the lambda at tick over it has got a slight wum/wum/wum quite fast between 920revs up and down to 960ish ?
