I changed my drive shaft the other day, and all seemed tight had it jacked up today i thought id give the wheel a shake i now have play
not sure if maybe it was't seated right when i tightened it or what? So i had a brain wave to check the other drive shaft and count the threads, and to confuse me more! The old shaft has a shorter thread!! Only two threads showing the one i put on is longer and about 6threads showing /: i got the shaft bran new from a friend and i matched it up to my old one and surely enough they were both tappered /: so im really confussed soon as i get 30ml socket off my friend again going to try nip it up ive only done about 25 mile at max on it so hopefully not mashed up the bearing and hub
AGAIN LIKE A REPEAT OF MY LAST CAR lol, also i have a thread below this that i have yet to find the issue ! So much for these projects i must be getting old hahaha
Important! : Drive shaft replacement gone wrong?

#4Just to clarify that physically the gearbox driveshaft is shorter than the drivers side.
-
#5I matched the tapper up and length etc seemed a good match, and funny now i have wheel bottled up and on the deck there is no play? I think maybe the wheel nuts contribute towards the the structure of the disc as seems locked up nice now i thought i may have left shaft slightly lose but feels good and tight
-
#6how tight did you do the hub nut? its got to be 250nm to bring the bearing into tolerance ie: Fucking tight

#7Thanks gandi pushed mot back till tuesday, taking mates garage tonight for full run around the car see what could fail as his a mot inspector himself, so he'll know what needs to be done i will deffo FT it
