help! dull angel eyes!!!

    Hey,
I have smoked angel eye headlights on my vtr but they are really dull. Have been since I got them. So much so that people will flash me thinking I haven't got them on properly. Any ideas how to brighten them up? Bought hids but don't like that there is a delay between full beam and normal lights - I live in the middle of nowhere it's a hairy time waiting for them to warm up!!!

Angel eyes are utter shite, and HIDs will melt/crack the lenses and fail the MOT. Buy and put factory lights back in

get a good clear aftermarket set of lights and get some night breaker bulbs in them if you need brighter then you could go for off road bulbs but didn't see any better than night breakers. Having smoked lights just for looks and having less vision on the road kinna stupid unless their not reducing vision then id look to getting new set mate.

I dont think its anything to do with the fact they are smoked. the outer rings are bright its just the main light itself. it's a dull yellowish light whereas the ring is bright white light. Didnt know if there was a way to make the main light as bright as the ring

Were they new when you bought them? Do you mean like a yellow gritty haze on the lenses on them? If so, you need to wetsand and machine polish them back up... there's a guide on here of how to do it.

As above though, angel lights do look pants IMO... only standards and morettes are acceptable in my world haha

Yep they were bought new about a year or so ago. The light they give off is just a dull yellow. I've seen them on a different saxo driving about and they are a brighter whiter light. That's what I want but without using hids if possible.

See I'm the opposite I think morettes look pants but it all a matter of taste. Be a tad boring if all saxos were done to look the same

Ahh right fair play... I did have HID's in my standard units years ago and the difference in light was amazing but as been previously said, it would more than likely dazzle others coming the other way in angels (and to be fair my old HID's weren't perfect).

Best bet might be Nightbreakers or similar? I've got yellow 'retro' bulbs in standard units now so I do agree on your point about if 106's and Saxo's did all look the same... angels just aren't my cup of tea that's all

Not taking the piss here, but wash the lights of then polish them with tootpaste.you'll be amazed by the amount of crap that comes off.
