temperature warning light

    hey guys

recently put the vts back together and every time i fire it up the temperature warning light is on constantly. ive let it run and teh dial slowly creeps up to half way like it should but the light stays on from cold.

as you can see in the pic below i have two sensors that are probably both for temperature iirc. the top sensor only has two wire coming from it though it has three pins. the bottom sensor only has the one wire coming from it.

can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong here?

    thanks

Dodgy sensor maybe? One sends signals to the ecu which will control the dash light, the other controls the fan (can't remember which colour but think it's blue for the ecu and dash, green for the fan)
    Also, was it bled properly?

yeah its bled properly mate. bolt on top of the thermo housing for bleeding and all air is out of it and flowing through the thermostat when heated up

The upper sensor is for the needle, light AND the fan.

The lower switch is an on/off type for the ECU only.

    Thanks martin.

Though ive been looking at the diagrams on the manual and says there meant to be three wires coming from thon sensor

    Nope, just the two.

You're using a Haynes one no doubt?
