vts oil leak above alternator

put my vts back together recently. the head has been skimmed and a new heagasket installed but letting the car run for a while is pissing oil out form above the alternator (where the high pressure oil gallery flows up into the head)

ive followed the correct steps in torqing the head down but obviously im missing something

How did you torque the head?

20Nm then a single stage of 260 degrees on each bolt, starting in the middle and working outwards in a circular pattern?

Did you seal the cam ladders properly and did you fit new camshaft seals?

Yes mate that exact sequence ive done heads on vtrs amd all before

Cam seals are brand new and installed by engine specialist, also thecam ladders were sealed by the same company as the head was in getting skimmed at the time.

Its definitely the part above the alternator as i still have the front of the car off and i can see it seeping out. Apart from that the engine is completely dry

I'm having a similar issue with my vtr engine. It was skimmed and put back together and seems to remain wet with oil in the very same spot. It's not pouring out but if I clean it up, within a few days it looks wet again. I'm assured by the mechanic that it's normal and not to worry. Done around 1500 since the head was done. Hope you get it sorted.

    update!

i replaced headbolts one by one then torqued the head down again and when the car is running it was fine. standing over the engine i revved it slightly and with the cambelt cover off a stream of oil poured out of the head between the pulleys.

i decided to whip the head off the next day and discovered this (pic below) my guess is that oil has leaked into the cylinder once the engine was turned off and the oil was still roasting hot. the cylinders where all clean before the new head gasket went on. also its a glaser hg which i got from a motor factors. pricey but then it doesnt strike me as a well known brand.
