Gear box problem? Or just more oil

    Hey

    Iv noticed over the last few weeks if i drive on the motorway for a long time then come back down to driving at 30/40 on normal roads the gear changes seem to need more force to change gear, but the car sound ok when driving. But left for an hour or two gear changes are smooth as anything. Is it just more oil i need or is there something else going on?

    sounds to me like its got an oil of the wrong viscosity in it or simply the oil inside is past its best. Fill it up with a 75w80, you'll need 2 litres after draining it out. Wont cover that here as there are guides on this site but its very easy to do - 20 minute job maximum
