Weight limit?

    Hi guys,

I'm looking at buying a jp4, the only thing is its about a 2 hour drive each way.
While i'd be ok getting up there, i'm not too sure if the saxo would cope the whole way home with a complete engine and gearbox in the back,

What do you guys think? Would it take it or would the arse be on the floor, it's dropped 40mm as it is and even when you have two people in the back it's right in the arches...

I think theres not enough police on the road to be a problem. I'd get the engine as far forward as possible, maybe even remove your seats. I usually put a big bit of cardboard down to allow me to slide everything a bit once in.

    How heavy are the people?

if they're Dave Lady spec and it's not bottomed out you should be okay

wouldnt worry about it. If you want to then split the box and engine first and put the gearbox in your front footwell, not that they are that heavy anyway

It'll be M25 and A12, Kev I didn't even take the plod into account, is that going to be a problem if I've got all that weight, or did you mean because it will be DECKED?

Muzizzle - what is dave lady spec? As I say it's 40mm but standard dampers so soft as shit.

Yeah I'd split the lump and the box purely so I can get it in and out without risking catching the paint. Getting it indoors will be the fun part, definitely not a one man lift.

Not sure if taking front seat out will be an option - was going to take the Mrs to navigate as it's well and truly uncharted territory!
I suppose there may be a way I can get it all to fit, maybe with the chair right back the box could go in the footwell (Mrs is fucking tiny), and the engine in the back, sort of up against drivers chair?

As I say i'd get lonely on the road that long myself, with the box in the footwell would the engine be ok in the back? As Kev said probably take back seats out and stick a bit of card or something harder if I can find it as to be able to move the fucking thing!

Anyone shifted heavy loads in a saxo before? :/
