VTS issues , advice please

    I'm having some trouble with my VTS rally car. I will try describe the problem as best as I can and hopefully some of you may be able to help. Basically my car has a misfire, but its much more than that. Upon starting, it holds an idle of 2000rpm, it then drops and rises,drops and rises, drops and rises. Then when you take off driving it feels like the throttle is sticking and not falling back down.Off down the start like a bomb until 30 seconds later it develops an awful misfire, where it wont pass 3000 rpm tops. after about a minute of driving like that, the car then cuts out completely. Most of the time it won't start again, it will crank but wont take. Please help. I will state that i had a similar problem before, approximately 30miles ago, where i bought a new crank sensor and coilpack & plugs. I've no diagnostics port as I am running a complete custom loom and she is completely stripped out.

    Try cleaning the idle control valve,guide on here somewhere.

    Took off the throttle body, cleaned it out, cleaned the icv and replaced the tps. the idle is much better, but it is still a pure pig to drive with the misfire and the sticking throttle

    I'd check the water temp sensor, sounds like it's faulty so the car doesn't know how warm it is. So it won't be enriching the mixture needed for cold start.
