Help needed I've changed the thermostat run car for an hour and all was fine then last night went work which is half hour away switched the engine off and same problem again were the water is squirting out of the header tank on the rad! Also the top hose is solid any ideas I was thinking should I just run without a thermostat or am I filling the rad up with too much water.

Are you sure you've bled the air out fully? There's a guide on here somewhere.

I'm loosing water through the top of the expansion tank, I've changed the thermo but still the same. Could it be the head gasket and if so how can you tell.

If there is air in the system it'll expand and push coolant out of the cap.
HG symptoms would be oil in water? Water in oil? Running rough? Compression test too.

A faulty head gasket can pressurize the system, but more than likely the cooling system needs bleeding.
