Engine block/sump/head etc painting?

Is it necessary to use high temp paint for these? How hot does the block actually get? my local paint shop doesn't do white high temp paint, and I don't really want to use rattle cans

Id say has to be high temp yes....white possibly the worst possible choice for an engine block on a Saxo?!
Wont be long before them rockers are leaking and making it brown
Would look nice though! I went for white brake calipers so im just as bad!

Just done some reading and many people have used normal 2 stage ppg paint and they recon it's lasted well, it's only the manifold/turbo that see's the serious heat it's either white or black, I've done the bay white and the steering rack/servo etc black, it's not my daily so can spend time cleaning it
