Hello, i own a 2001 saxo cup 1.6 which has a annoying sound which can be stopped when pressing the "Air Recycle" button on the dashboard.
    I found this

    But no awnsers.
Also, squeakie power steering, it turns fine smooth and easy, but quite noisy, any suggestions?

    Thanks for reading.

Any pics of this Saxo "Cup"?
Could be something trapped in the pipe that brings air into the car from the outside like a leaf or whatever? Look at the air intake in the scuttle panel near the wiper arms and see if anything is stuck in there

There should be a sponge, take that out and just see if there is a leaf or something stuck in the spinny fan motor bit?

Have you put the fan on full blast and then gone out and listened closely to near the sponge? Maybe the motor itself is noisy, ie bearings gone?

The steering noise is 90% gone after changing the join boot.
After close inspection of the hole, it contains some leafs, a snail and some other stuff, but it spins quite well if i turn on the interior fan, and surprisingly spins very freely after turning off

The steering noise isn't gone, it happens a lot more while theres more heat.
My mechanic said it's some plastics and it would be needed to remove steering wheel and stuff didn't gave me a price

I have tried switching the button, no luck
