106 GTi boomy exhaust

   Basically 106 has developed a weird one, at about 4k Rpm on overrun the exhaust has gone very boomy and bassy and resonating through the car, lower down or higher up its fine just very bassy around the 4k mark, don't think its the engine mount as I replaced it about a month ago and there's no vibration on idle but it's resonating through the car bad on overrun, seems since I changed my clutch oddly enough

   Definitely the exhaust? Not something else vibrating?
   The tone of the engine at that rpm is causing some loose to rattle, just check all exhaust joints are tight, no leaks etc?
   I had this with mine but I honestly cannot remember for the life of me how I solved it haha

   Do you have the exhaust bolted to the gearbox via the bracket?The vibration maybe coming from there.

   As above it's either the gearbox bracket that you've forgotten to do up whilst changing the clutch or a heatshield around the exhaust.

   I've never had my exhaust bolted to my gearbox. Think mine was maybe sat on the anti roll bar that caused it?
