wtf £750 for boot smooth job

    someone point me to a god lol ok been a few years from last time visited a bodyshop but been to 8 in last week and the best offer for boot smoothing on mk 2 saxo £750 now i cant help thinking what the hell has happened over the years to make this now so expensive
    can someone help?

    Can you not do (the bulk of) it yourself? Weld a panel in, P40/P38, sand it, take it to painter for a £100 sprayjob. Sorted.

    Maybe but i like it and had done to my old mk 2 each to there own for sure but am dissapointed in the price hike which is way to much.

    I work in a bodyshop and we wouldn't charge more than £120 for that haha

    Can't be very high quality work then....we charge double that just for a basic bumper respray.

    Why would it not be good quality?

    Probably pay a lot more in England than N. Ireland for these types of jobs.

    To be fair its not that hard a job.

    Assuming you're talking about welding a plate over, grinding back, filling it, sanding it back smooth, then painting it properly? For £120?

    I don't understand the concept of spending more than the cars worth on a shit cosmetic mod, including the rise in insurance cost.

    Depending where your located, I could sell you one? Was on the same car for about 10 years and no sign of cracking!
