   Leon cupra r drivers side tail light went out then the brake light (brake/tail bulb) got a new bulb still won't work all other lights work fine both sides no obvious sign of broken wire

   Could be a fuse like. On my Audi I blown a fuse and swapped a random one to get home and it knocked the rear passenger light out. I think they're on opposite fuses for safety.

   Thanks for the comenents so I get pulled over last night and have been given a vehicle defect form so I need to get this sorted now fuses checked and everything ok also the brake has started working again now but no tail light cars going off the road from the first was hoping to make it until then but no such luck!

   Try another bulb,
   Also make sure it's the correct bulb make sure it does t have staggered pins
   
   I've seen this a lot

   That is unless it supposed to have staggered pins
