    Afternoon peoples!
Just a quick one, roughly what power can these engines "safely" take on standard internals? In guessing round the 200 or so mark?

    Cheers !

what do you mean by "take" ?

standard crank and rods are good for 180 in a single throttle C2R2 rally car application, with a completely reworked head with double springs solid tappets and long duration cams, light slipper type high compression pistons, standard JP4S inlet, very long primary exhaust manifold.

on itb's you might get nearer 200 with a similar sum of parts, go forged rods and wilder cams and you'll go nearer 230+

Standard rods with arp bolts good for 300hp. Standard crank good for 500hp+

Everything else needs changing at those levels obviously. Clutch is generally the first point of weakness - it's barely good enough for stock power.

cheers for the replies people, i was asking because after me holiday im gonna have to invest in a wizards of nos nitrous set up, but just cant make my mind up on what "bhp shot " to go for..
currently the car makes 155bhp ish and i was thinking of going for a 50bhp shot but just wasnt sure if the internals could withstand 200ish ?
