    hi guys
dont know if this has already been answered, but i have looked but cant find the answer.
i want to remove the sunroof on my vts and blank it with ally plate.
need to know if i can do this so i have a smooth finish as i want to carbon wrap the roof after and i dont want no bumps etc from rivets/bolts.
also does anyone know the exact size of the hole???
im quite new to saxos and bought it as a project so any info will help.

Good luck filling it smooth enough for a wrap.

You can replace the entire roof skin with a non-sunroof version or live with something that looks a bit patched up, such as a riveted on panel.

Been meaning to plate mine for ages, but never got round to it.

What you do, is measure the hole, cut the metal to shape.

You then cut a rectangular ring to "cover" the slot.

using a strong resin, glue it in place. Once it's set you fill and sand smooth the top. then you can wrap it. You can wrap over filler if it's smooth and primed

not paying out the money on a roof skin due to only paying £350 for the car.

What do you mean? Replacing the glass with a fixed piece of metal? You'd be as well bonding the glass in and making it permanent.

Or do you mean removing the surround as well as the glass? I don't think it would sit flat. Worth a look.

by removing the glass and rubber surround i think i may be able to get this flush with the roof. i will have to check and see as suggested.
once i have done it i will post pics of the finish product.
on a separate note, does anyone know where i can get a new carpet???

I don't think you can buy carpets new anymore.

However, you could just buy carpet material off ebay and make your own. Saxo is a nice easy floor pan to carpet too.
