Important! : vtr gearbox oil leak URGENT!!

   Hi everyone,
   I'm new to the forum and have just bought a mk1 vtr with 76k for £500!
   the problem I'm having is there's a gearbox oil leak, I've found out it's the NS driveshaft seal so not too bad, only thing is I took the flywheel cover off today and it looks like oil is on the inside of the gearbox casing, the clutch & flywheel looked dry. is it normal to have some in there? It's just had a new clutch if that helps.

   not normal at all, input shaft bearing on the box can cause this

   Ok thanks, I've had the seal replaced and still leaking. Seems to be coming from the back of the box. whats the symptoms of a faulty input shaft bearing? And is it a big job? Thanks for your help
