Should your cap on the rad let coolant out as mine keeps releasing it at first I just thought maybe to much water in the system but its still happening, been out today and bought a new rad cap, just wondering if others have had the same issue on a vts. It's been to the garage and had a new thermostat and system bled but like I already said it's still doing it. My temp gauge is 3/4 and the fan kicks in but is the norm for running temp round town. In my old cap you could press the black insert in and out maybe this is some kind of release valve but the new cap I've bought you cannot push the insert in, just hope something doesn't pop with the pressure what I mean is maybe these caps are designed to release under pressure?? Anyone any ideas please.

#2All radiator caps are rated to certain Bar pressure, and after wear and tear they will not handle pressure very well.Had to change mine last year for that reason, running at 3/4 around town is not normal. My gauge sits around the halfway mark, either the temp gauge sensor is giving a false reading or the system is not bled properly.

#3Bit concerned with the new cap it's 1.4 bar and no water as released from it but like I said my old cap you could push the insert in and out thus one you can't and to be honest my temp gauge was going to halfway then back to near zero so maybe the garage didn't get all the air out of the system

#4Sounds like you have air trapped somewhere in the system stil.
