Removing engine bracket on rear of engine

  1. #1
Ok guys as some no my engine mount bolt needs to be removed but as its fitted upside down it won't pull out, and really do t want to lift engine high enough to clear the bolt.

So my only other option was to hold the engine with jack u underneath taking the weight and remove the whole engine mount bracket in one as well as bolt etc.
I've removed the bolts and its wobbly but the dam thing won't come off.

    Any ideas guys. Thanks

its a pain taking the whole assembly off as there is one big stud coming from the engine so you need the space to clear the bolt but obvs there isnt enough space up top or space near the water hoses. why not take the four bolts from the top of the part or have you rung them?

Had a go at the top ones mate but my t50 hex fits in but I've got a feeling it may be the next size up.
Can anyone confirm if they are next size up from a t50 hex.
    Thanks mate

    Cheers Alex Ye
Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new set tomorrow and try the next one bigger than a t50.
As long as I can get them 4 off should be easy, I hope lol.

no need for a set, halfords to T55's on their own.

    Another update guys
Got another hex from halfords and starting on the mounting bracket.
I can only imagine they were put on with a power tool as I struggled for quite sometime trying to crack them to get them off.
Managed to get 2 off but the other 2 have just rounded off.

Anyone no best way to get them off now.

I'd see if you can hammer in a larger torx bit (and if possible borrow an impact gun).
Failing that drill the head off then use a stud extractor.

Did you use a short bar to take the bolts off? They should be on at 10-11kg if I remember correctly.

Yes mate I did and I'm confident they were tighter than what they should have been.

Just wondering if I should jack the engine just enough to cut the bolt with grinder and remove it in 2 half broken then just purchase another bolt then I can drill the hole and put the new bolt through both then.
