Oil pressure

   Just bought a impreza and have noticed that the oil pressure gauge bounces all over the place il get a video in a bit but it's bouncing from the bottom to the top then the middle all over the place never sits still at all!
   
   Car runs fine though any ideas anyone?

   Faulty sender/sensor.

   It should only fluctuate with temperature and engine rpm.
   
   i.e hot engine holding say 2000rpm might show 4 BAR and hold it.
   
   some Imprezas are bad for crank end float if it's not the rear thrust bearing style. That can give wild fluctuation oil pressures. Usually not found until the main bearing fails and seizes.
   
   
   Better hope it's just a wiring fault

   I've not ran the car hot yet as it hasn't any tax or insurance until the first so it's doing this from cold
