So today the saxo overheated on the way to uni, with the temp warning light coming on.. Kept over heating after about 1-2 mins of driving, so had to keep pulling over to let it cool down... The coolant seems to be all there however just boiling over but does not need refilling.. In addition to this my power steering pump is also seized, anyone know why its over heating and if its an expensive fix? If so i might just call it a day with the saxo

#2First off try bleeding the cooling system, have you got hot air coming through the blowers?
-
#3Nope no hot air coming through the blowers, but i will give bleeding it a try

#4No hot air through the blowers is an air lock mate.

#5Any wet floors? Could be the matrix too.
But yeah, check the 3 bleed points first. I find that doing the heater bleed (Back left of the engine bay, looks like a tyre valve cap) and the bleed screw on the rad near the top hose is usually enough. -
#6Thermostat faulty? Best to take it off put it in a bowl of nearly boiling water and see if it opens up..
