Driveshaft help

  1. #1
Hi people I've got a vts 52plate that need both inner cv joints replacing. Ive read up on the guide on how to replace them and I've also been told it's easier to replace the whole driveshaft. So if anyone could help me with a pair of tapered driveshafts with good cv joints that would be a great help

    Cheers

Buy new wouldn't bother otherwise can end up same problems and lot of messing around

Inner cv joints arent that hard to change but shafts are almost so cheap it makes sense to do the lot. If it's just the boot that needs replacing and the cv is OK inner cv boot kits are about 8 quid - messy job but easy enough to replace if you have the tools

For the money just buy new shafts, at under £30 a side they're a bargain!

Just ordered a pair, we got one knocking at Cadwell yesterday at that price I'm going to change both sides, has anyone used them, although as I've ordered them it's a bit late to ask

Used them, had them on the car for about 30k before I sold it, no problems at all within that time. For the price really cannot ask for more in my opinion. Would always recommend them to someone else.

Not sure about anyone else but I find taking the mount off that middle bearing on driver side shaft easier to take off then trying to split the bearing out of the case?
If you do it this way the 3 bolts are star/torx bolts and then just tap it off the dowel with a hammer!

Well they didn't last long, we had done another trackday at Cadwell then today son was doing a trackday at RAF Marham & the offside one has gone again, probably lasted less than 300 miles, maybe even less than 200 miles, granted all track work. Now to see how good their warranty is.
